Kapi`olani proudly maintains its status as the Pacific Region's only comprehensive children's hospital. The gifts we receive from the community help us continue to provide programs and services such as these: Open heart surgery for children with severe heart defects through Kapi`olani’s Pediatric Cardiac Program Emergency services for approximately 16,000 children a year Specialty services to more than 2,000 Neighbor Island children each year Intensive care services for 300 children in our pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) Care for more than 600 newborns a year in our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) Lifesaving air transportation for seriously ill children from the Neighbor Islands Mahalo for Your Support!
